Robert Joncas

Robert Joncas is an experienced professional currently serving as the Executive Director of SportMedBC since March 2016, where responsibilities include leading strategic implementation and optimizing organizational delivery while maintaining stakeholder communication. Joncas has also been a snowboard instructor at Vail Resorts since November 2018, focusing on improving student riding abilities and fostering a passion for the sport. Additionally, Joncas holds staff trainer positions at Grouse Mountain and Cypress Mountain, training snowboard instructors for the Canadian Association of Snowboard Instructors certifications. Previous roles include School Board Trustee for the Conseil Scolaire Francophone de la Colombie-Britannique and High Performance Director at Canada Snowboard, where oversight of the national elite athletes program was provided. Joncas holds a Master’s degree in Kinesiology and Exercise Science from Université de Sherbrooke and a Bachelor's degree in Physical Education Teaching and Coaching from Université de Moncton.
