Stephen Madden

Stephen Madden has extensive work experience in the field of pharmaceutical research and operations. Stephen currently holds the position of SVP Head Global Operations at Cyprotex, where they have been working since 2023. Prior to this role, they served as the SVP, Head of Scientific and Business Operations starting from 2021.

Before joining Cyprotex, Stephen worked at Charles River Laboratories for a significant period of time. Their roles at Charles River Laboratories included Director, Regulatory ADME & Discovery Sciences (2020-2021), Head, Regulatory ADME and Discovery Sciences (2016-2020), Head, Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics (2010-2020), and Head, In Vitro Sciences (1996-2010). In their last role at Charles River Laboratories, they were responsible for overseeing various research groups and introducing improved in vitro techniques for drug safety.

Stephen began their career as a Research Fellow at the University of Liverpool, where they worked from 1990 to 1996.

Stephen Madden completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry from the University of Glasgow, where they studied from 1982 to 1986. Afterward, they pursued a PhD in Pharmacology at the University of Liverpool, where they studied from 1986 to 1990.
