Mark Horsburgh has a diverse work experience spanning several companies. Mark is currently working as the Vice President of Software Engineering at Cyted, where they focus on leveraging digital pathology and artificial intelligence to improve disease detection and patient outcomes. Prior to this role, Mark worked at Software AG from 2013 to 2021, holding positions such as Principal Software Architect, Senior Software Architect, and Engineering Manager. Mark also worked at Progress from 2005 to 2013, where they served as an Engineering Manager, Software Architect, and Principal Software Engineer. Before that, Mark gained experience as a Software Engineer at Apama from 2000 to 2005. Mark began their professional career as an Intern at GENZL from 1993 to 1996, where they assisted scientists and engineers in various projects, including installations and maintenance of weather instruments and geothermal well instruments in Indonesia.
Mark Horsburgh has an extensive education history. Mark completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry at The University of Auckland from 1990 to 1992. Prior to that, they attended The University of Auckland from 1993 to 1994 and earned their Bachelor of Engineering with Honours in Engineering Science. Following this, Mark pursued a Master of Engineering degree in Engineering Science at The University of Auckland from 1995 to 1996. Mark further continued their education by obtaining a PhD in Applied Mathematics from the University of Cambridge, which they completed from 1996 to 2000. Mark's educational journey began at Macleans College from 1988 to 1989, where they did not complete a specific degree or field of study.
