Adam Young

Principal Statistical Programmer - FSP at Cytel

Adam Young has a diverse work experience spanning different companies. Adam started their career at the Office of Services for Students with Disabilities as a Math Tutor, where they created strategies to help students excel in subjects like algebra, statistics, and calculus. After this, Adam joined Shire Pharmaceuticals (formerly ViroPharma Incorporated) as a Clinical Programming Associate, where they worked from August 2010 to December 2013. In this role, they developed mock tables and listings for clinical trial analysis and wrote and executed SAS programs. Adam then transitioned into the role of a Statistical Programmer at the same company from January 2014 to December 2014. During this time, they were responsible for generating baseline and safety analyses, including analysis datasets and tables for Clinical Study Reports.

In 2015, Adam joined Shire Pharmaceuticals as a Senior Statistical Programmer, where they coordinated statistical programming activities for a clinical study, managed project timelines, and reviewed contracts. Adam also provided comments on the specifications for the clinical database and the statistical analysis plan.

Later in 2015, Adam moved to Cytel, where they took on the role of a Senior Statistical Programmer for the company's Functional Service Provider (FSP) division. Here, they conducted statistical programming activities, led programming activities for trials or projects, and developed and supported statistical programming computer systems.

Adam Young earned a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics and Statistics from West Chester University of Pennsylvania, where they attended from 2006 to 2010. Later, they pursued a Master of Applied Statistics from Penn State University, studying from 2013 to 2016.
