Trang Vu has a comprehensive work experience in the field of research and biotechnology. From 2011 to 2016, they worked as a Graduate Student Researcher at the University of Ulsan, where they focused on establishing protocols for prokaryotic expression and purification of various human proteins and enzymes. Trang also gained expertise in molecular biology techniques such as plasmid preparation, PCR, and gene cloning.
From 2016 to 2019, Trang served as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of California, San Francisco. Their work involved studying the protective efficacy of monoclonal antibodies in a rabbit model of Staphylococcus aureus pneumonia. Trang also established a rabbit model of Pseudomonas aeruginosa acute pneumonia to evaluate the efficacy of narrow-spectrum therapeutic agents. Their research contributed to a better understanding of these diseases and the development of new treatment strategies.
Since 2019, Trang has been employed at CytomX Therapeutics. Trang began as a Senior Research Associate, conducting kinetic characterization of antibody/antibody fragments and screening scFvs with higher binding affinity using phage display. Trang also developed protocols for antibody masking. Currently, they hold the position of Scientist II, and their precise responsibilities and projects within this role are not specified.
Trang Vu pursued their education at the Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City from 2006 to 2010, where they completed their Bachelor's degree in Biotechnology. Following this, they enrolled in Ulsan College of Medicine from 2011 to 2016, earning a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.
