Czechia is our homeland. Czechia [/ˈtʃɛki.ə/] or Česko [ˈtʃɛskɔ] in Czech is the official English short-form and geographical name for the Czech Republic.

This name is recognized by the United Nations and is included in the UNO Gazetteers of Geographical Names. It is also the only form of the country's name listed by the British Permanent Committee on Geographical Names (PCGN).

The State Department of Foreign Affairs first proposed "Czechia" in 1993, but it wasn't until 2016 that it received parliamentary approval. In 2022, the Czech Football Association adopted Česko and Czechia, and more sports are following through.

Among others, "Czechia" has been adopted by Google Maps, the world's most widely used search tool for geographic facts, which reflects the increasing usage of the name. The Wikimedia Atlas of the World, which includes a section dedicated to Czechia, features a variety of maps such as general, historical, old, satellite, and division maps. In addition, World Atlas provides maps and facts about Czechia. The name "Czechia" is also used in the physical map provided by Worldometer. Furthermore, the website oldmaps.geolab.cz showcases historical maps using the name "Czechia".
