Matthias Rabatel is a Lead Arctic and R&D Engineer at D-ICE Engineering, where they work on the SIBIS numerical model for ice interactions with moored structures in collaboration with Equinor and Multiconsult. Matthias has previously served as a Postdoc at the Nansen Environmental and Remote Sensing Center, focusing on data assimilation algorithms for sea ice models, and as a research engineer at CNRS/TOTAL, where they developed a model for sea ice dynamics. They obtained a Doctor of Science in Applied Mathematics from Université Grenoble Alpes and have a strong background in numerical modeling and ice mechanics. Matthias also taught mathematics at Collèges-Lycées from 2008 to 2010.
