Chris Roth

Chris Roth has a diverse work experience in the field of software development and consulting. Chris started their career as an Application Engineer and later became a Technology Evangelist at Visio Corporation from 1992 to 2000. Chris then worked at DataAssist as a Senior Developer before moving on to become an Author at QUE Publishing, where they wrote a book on Microsoft Visio.

In 2002, Chris joined D-Tools Inc. as a Contract Developer and later became a Software Developer. Chris was responsible for creating an online, Visio-like, web-based drawing component using TypeScript and D3.js. Chris also provided ongoing support for d-Tool's SI product and developed SmartShapes, automation tools, and proof-of-concept features.

Additionally, Chris worked as an Owner/Consultant at Visio Guy Consulting, where they provided software consulting services primarily related to linking data to visualizations using Visio. Chris also maintained the Visio Guy blog and discussion forum.

Apart from their software career, Chris has also pursued their passion for music. Chris has worked as a Musician/Trombonist for English-Speaking Music Ensembles e.V. and Pullacher Blasmusik. Chris has a strong background in rehearsing, performing, and perfecting their trombone skills.

Chris Roth was recognized as a Microsoft Visio MVP (Most Valuable Professional) and has demonstrated their expertise in the field.
