Chief Scientist - Quantum Machine Learning at D-Wave

Mohammad Amin has extensive experience in the field of quantum machine learning. Mohammad started their career at D-Wave Systems Inc. in 2000 as a Principal Scientist and eventually became the Chief Scientist for Quantum Machine Learning in July 2017. Before joining D-Wave Systems Inc., Mohammad worked as a Postdoc at Simon Fraser University from September 1999 to December 1999. Mohammad also served as an Adjunct Professor at Simon Fraser University from April 2011 onwards.

Mohammad Amin started their education journey in 1985 when they enrolled at Shiraz University to pursue a Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering. Mohammad dedicated six years to this program and successfully completed it in 1991.

Expanding their knowledge further, Mohammad Amin joined Sharif University of Technology in 1991. Here, they pursued a Master of Science (MSc) degree specializing in the Foundations of Quantum Mechanics. After two years of rigorous study, they completed their MSc program in 1993.

Continuing their academic pursuits, Mohammad Amin enrolled at The University of British Columbia in 1994 to pursue a PhD in the field of Condensed Matter Physics. This program lasted for five years, culminating in their successful completion in 1999.

To summarize, Mohammad Amin's education history features a Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Shiraz University (1985-1991), an MSc in Foundations of Quantum Mechanics from Sharif University of Technology (1991-1993), and finally a PhD in Condensed Matter Physics from The University of British Columbia (1994-1999).
