Nathan De Baets

Nathan De Baets is a senior greenhouse gas management expert specializing in climate change mitigation, with a focus on nature-based solutions, forestry, agriculture, and energy. They have over 20 years of experience working in more than 20 countries and are fluent in French, English, Spanish, and Dutch. Currently, Nathan serves as a Key Expert 2 for the Global NDC Facility at DAI, advising on climate adaptation measures and carbon market mechanisms. They have held various roles in climate and rural development, including as an advisor at Nathan De Baets BV and previously at organizations such as ÉcoRessources and Biopterre, contributing to low-carbon development strategies and ecosystem service valuation. Nathan holds a Master of Science in Tropical and Subtropical Agriculture from Hogeschool Gent and an MSc in Agroforestry from Laval University.
