Ryan Johnston

Ryan Johnston serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Biotic Ferments, a Certified B Corp focused on enhancing human microbiomes through next-generation probiotic beverages made from organic ingredients. Johnston has extensive experience in sustainability, holding positions such as Board Member at Daily Acts Organization and Strategic Advisor for the Landscape Carbon Calculator, where efforts were directed toward climate-smart development. As a former Conservation Planner for the GOLD RIDGE RESOURCE CONSERVATION DISTRICT, Johnston supported farmers in developing Carbon Farm Plans. Previous roles include Head of Cidermaking and Orchard Management at Ethic Ciders, where significant advancements in regenerative practices were implemented, and Program Director at Permaculture Skills Center, overseeing educational initiatives in ecological land management. Johnston holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Studies and Business with Honors from the University of Oregon, along with certifications in Permaculture Design and Regenerative Design.
