Daniel Matthews

Daniel Matthews is a seasoned sports journalist currently serving as a Senior Sports Writer on the US sports desk for the Daily Mail since July 2019. Prior to this role, Daniel worked as a Sports Reporter for MailOnline from September 2016 to July 2019, where coverage included Premier League football and boxing, as well as conducting exclusive interviews with prominent athletes. Daniel's experience also includes a trainee sports journalist position at the Liverpool Echo and a digital sub-editor role at The Sunday Times. Academically, Daniel holds a Master of Arts in Newspaper Journalism from City, University of London, and a Bachelor of Arts in Modern European Studies from the University of Nottingham, alongside a Year Abroad experience in France.
