Do you have the skills to manage your data?

The digital revolution is transforming our world. Digital technologies are combining with the physical and biological domains to alter dramatically the way we live, work and connect.

These technologies rely on increasing amounts of information gained from accurate and timely data.

Recent regulatory breaches and misuse of personal data remind us of the challenge of gathering, storing and capitalising on data. Data governance, security and privacy are vital issues for every private and public organisation.

Effective management of data requires the right people.

The promise of the digital economy to create better futures relies on people with the right knowledge, training and skills to define, collect, protect and enhance the value of data.

Data skills are not IT skills. Data professionals have the right capability to manage data to meet business needs.

More than this, everyone needs an understanding of their organisation’s data and their role in collecting, protecting and using this data.

DAMA Australia represents the Australian Chapters of DAMA International, the non-profit industry association dedicated to advancing the profession of data management. Our chapters in Perth, Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Melbourne and Sydney provide a forum for members to exchange information, ideas and experiences.
