Asghar Memon

Asghar Memon is the Chief Executive Officer of DAMEN Support Programme, a SECP-licensed non-bank microfinance company in Pakistan focused on financial inclusion and women’s empowerment. They have more than 30 years of experience in financial services and were part of the team that founded the Pakistan Microfinance Investment Company. They previously led the Pakistan Microfinance Investment Company’s Microfinance Portfolio, growing the portfolio to PKR 30 billion and expanding client reach to over 1 million, with 80% of clients being women and 60% in rural areas, and they also led SAFWCO's Economic Development Sector, expanding the microfinance client base from under 1,000 to over 40,000. They also served as General Manager, Microfinance Portfolio Management at the Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund, where lending rose from PKR 6 billion to PKR 15 billion, non-performing loans remained below 1%, and programs worth USD 270 million were implemented along with the introduction of more than 25 financial products.
