Russ Sumner

Science Teacher, Head Football Coach, Head Boy's Track Coach at Danville Community School Corporation

Russ Sumner has a diverse work experience in education and coaching. Russ started their career in 2003 as an Earth Science Teacher, Football Coach, and Softball Coach at Frederick County Public Schools. In 2007, they joined the Metropolitan School District of Perry Township, where they served as a Biology & Earth Science Teacher and Football Coach until 2011. Since 2011, Russ has been working at Danville Community High School as a Science Teacher, Head Football Coach, and Head Boy's Track Coach.

Russ Sumner has a strong educational background in the field of Earth/Space Science and Biology Education. Russ started their education journey at DePauw University from 1998 to 2000, where they pursued a degree in Earth/Space Science and Biology Education. Following that, they attended Vincennes University from 2000 to 2001, continuing their studies in the same field. In 2002 and 2003, Russ Sumner enrolled at Ball State University, where they completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Earth/Space Science and Biology Education. Later on, they furthered their education at West Virginia University, where they obtained a Master of Science degree in Athletic Coaching Education from 2005 to 2007.
