Barry Johnson

Barry Johnson has over 25 years of experience in the information security and business consulting industries. Barry began their career in 1995 as a Corporate Security Officer for SPARTA, where they designed and implemented a corporate-wide Information Security Program and policies to secure the corporate perimeter and internal environment. Barry then moved on to become the Lead Network Security Engineer for SPARTA, where they led and assisted network penetration and incident response teams. In 1999, they became the Director of the Technical Solutions Group for Galaxy Computer Systems, Inc., where they established and led a team of specialists focusing on enabling customers to meet their security and regulatory requirements. In 2004, they joined IGX Global as the Chief Technology Officer (CTO), where they established the technical direction of the company, developed new services, and managed a team of engineers. In 2015, they became the Chief of Security for Avra, Inc., a development stage company pioneering product innovation and activation of merchant and consumer commerce in the global Bitcoin-related digital currencies market. Barry is currently the President and CEO of Dara Security, a provider of information security and business consulting services.

Barry Johnson received their Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems from DeVry University in 1991. Barry then went on to receive their Master's degree in Software Engineering and Telecommunications from The Johns Hopkins University in 2000.
