James Dong

James Z. DONG currently serves as the Group CEO of Daraz since January 2024 and has held the same position at Lazada since June 2018, with prior leadership roles as CEO in Lazada's operations in Indonesia, Vietnam, and Thailand. DONG also functions as the President of Overseas Local Operation at Alibaba International Digital Commerce, a role maintained since March 2015, alongside earlier duties as Business Assistant to the Alibaba Group CEO and Head of Strategy, Investment, Business Development, and Business Intelligence at Alibaba B2B2C e-Commerce. Previous work experience includes positions as Associate Partner at McKinsey & Company, Senior Consultant at Arthur D. Little, and Consultant at Accenture. DONG holds an MBA from the University of Cambridge and a Bachelor's degree in Control Science and Engineering from the Harbin Institute of Technology.
