Max Heinemeyer

Director, Threat Hunting at Darktrace

Max Heinemeyer is the Director of Threat Hunting at Darktrace. Prior to this, they served on the advisory board for Picus Security Inc. from January 2019 to July 2022. During their time there, Picus was named a 'Cool Vendor' in Security and Risk Management by Gartner in 2019 and raised $5 million in Series A funding. Max also previously worked at Hewlett-Packard from October 2009 to February 2016 as the Regional Capability Lead Threat & Vulnerability Management Central Cluster. In this role, they were responsible for leading the Threat & Vulnerability Management practice at HP's Enterprise Security Services in Central Europe, delivering Penetration Tests, designing Vulnerability Management concepts, growing the TVM business in Central Europe, and more. Max is a security evangelist and has also been active in training & mentoring junior Penetration Testers.

Max Heinemeyer holds a Master of Science in International Business Information Systems from the University of Duisburg-Essen, as well as a Bachelor of Science in the same field from the Corporate State University Stuttgart. Max is also certified by Qualys as a Qualys Certified Expert, and by FireEye, Inc. as a FireEye Junior Systems Engineer. Furthermore, Max has their Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP) certification and is ITIL v3 certified.
