Jay Acharekar

Jay Acharekar is a seasoned professional in collections management with extensive experience in various financial sectors. Currently serving as the Head of Collections at The Indian Express since July 2015, Acharekar is responsible for reducing repayment cycles for print advertisements and event sponsorships across West and East India. Previously, Acharekar held roles such as Unit Head of Collections at CITICORP FINANCE (INDIA) LIMITED, where leadership of a collections team focused on asset-based portfolios led to notable success in customer recovery and satisfaction. Other significant positions include Manager Collections at Prudential Finance Vietnam, where achievements included substantial reductions in delinquencies while navigating cultural challenges, and various roles in collections and credit management across reputable financial institutions. Acharekar holds a B.Sc. in Chemistry from the University of Mumbai.
