David Oglethorpe

David Oglethorpe, Ed.D., currently serves as the Executive Director of Strategic Communications at Virginia Commonwealth University since November 2023. Prior to this role, David held the position of Director of Public Relations and Marketing Communications at VCU Massey Cancer Center from September 2020 to November 2023. David's extensive experience includes roles such as Director of Communications at the Virginia Conservation Network and multiple positions at the University of Central Florida, including Associate Director of the Student Union. Earlier in David's career, David worked as an Academic Advisor at Jacksonville University and gained experience in athletics communication at The Ohio State University. David's educational background includes a Doctorate in Higher Education Administration and a Master's degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Central Florida, alongside a Bachelor's degree in Strategic Communication from The Ohio State University.
