Michael Turkington

Michael Turkington has a diverse work experience. Michael started their career in 2014 as a Postgraduate Researcher at Queen's University Belfast, where they focused on producing atomic data for nuclear fusion research. Michael worked on the development of R-matrix codes for electron-impact scattering calculations. In 2017, they became a Lecturer at Stranmillis University College, Belfast, where they taught until 2018. From 2018 onwards, they joined Data Intellect as a Financial Software Developer and later transitioned to a Mid-level kdb+ developer role.

Michael Turkington earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Atomic/Molecular Physics from Queen's University Belfast, a prestigious university in Northern Ireland, graduating in 2017. Prior to that, they obtained a Master of Science (MS) degree in Mathematics from the same institution, completing their studies in 2014. Additionally, they have obtained certifications such as the KX Fundamentals Capstone from KX in June 2023 and the [PCEP-30-01] PCEP – Certified Entry-Level Python Programmer certification from the Python Institute in February 2021.
