Paul Archer-Smith, PhD, is a data scientist at Data Sciences since December 2021, specializing in inferential statistics, mathematical modeling, and programming to analyze political and market data. Prior to this role, Paul served as a scientific researcher at Carleton University from September 2016 to December 2021, exploring new physics beyond the Standard Model and engaging in various fields including cosmology and gravitational waves. Additionally, Paul has experience as a teaching assistant and physics instructor, contributing to curriculum development and student education in physics. Paul also held the position of VP Internal for CUPE 4600, advocating for academic staff, and has a background in hydrological modeling from two summer research positions at the Global Institute for Water Security. Paul holds a PhD in Theoretical Particle Physics and Cosmology from Carleton University, a Master of Science in Theoretical and Mathematical Physics from the University of Saskatchewan, and a Bachelor of Science in the same field from the University of Saskatchewan.
