Vadym Chakrian

Vadym Chakrian, Ph.D., has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of information security. Vadym started their career at Kharkiv National University of Radioelectronics as an Engineer, where they gained experience in Windows systems administration and OS security. Vadym then worked at Samsung Electronics Ukraine, R&D Center as an Engineer, focusing on risk assessment, penetration testing, and security assessment. During this time, they also pursued their Ph.D., conducting research on information security in telecommunication networks.

Later, Vadym joined Hackup Learning Network as the Head of the organization, where they organized competitions and conferences on information security, facilitated adaptation of learning materials for teenagers, and created an online education platform. Vadym also worked as an Instructor at Cisco Academy and taught courses on information security.

Vadym's career then took him to USAID, where they worked as an Instructor, and later to DataArt, where they held various roles including Security Consultant, Senior Security Engineer, and Lead of Information Security Team. In these positions, they developed incident management processes, implemented information security policies and standards, built vulnerability management processes, and oversaw the creation of SOC and Incident Response functions.

Currently, Vadym is the Head of Information Security Department at DataArt, responsible for the overall information security of the company. Additionally, they serve as a Cybersecurity Mentor at VETERANO CYBER CLUSTER, providing guidance and knowledge to others in the field. Throughout their career, Vadym has demonstrated expertise in information security, risk management, vulnerability analysis, and incident response.

Vadym Chakrian, Ph.D., received their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Information Security in Telecommunication Networks from Kharkiv National University of Radioelectronics in 2018. Prior to that, they earned a Master's degree in Administrative Management in the information security field from the same university in 2012. Additionally, they hold various certifications in areas such as security, networking, and programming, including CISSP, Microsoft Certified Azure Fundamentals, and Cisco CCNA Security.
