Alkis Polyzotis

Alkis Polyzotis is a seasoned professional in computer sciences with a PhD from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, earned between 1998 and 2003. Currently serving as a Senior Staff Engineer at Databricks since March 2021, Alkis has previously held notable positions including Senior Staff Research Scientist at Google from May 2013 to February 2021, and a long academic tenure at UC Santa Cruz from 2003 to 2015, where Alkis advanced through the ranks from Assistant Professor to Professor. Additional experiences include consulting roles at Oracle Corporation and Aster Data Systems, along with positions as a Visiting Scientist at INRIA and a Visiting Professor at EPFL. Prior to these roles, Alkis also contributed as a Research Assistant at the University of Wisconsin at Madison and held an internship at Bell Laboratories.
