Elena Donio

Elena Donio is a seasoned technology leader with a career spanning over 25 years as both an operating executive and board member. She is currently a board member, investor, and advisor to several technology companies.

Elena was CEO of Axiom, a leading global marketplace for on-demand corporate legal talent, from 2016 to 2020. During her tenure as CEO, she led the organization through a period of accelerating growth, investment in technology, an ambitious restructuring, and capital investment from Permira Funds.

Elena serves on the board of Twilio (NYSE: TWLO), the leading cloud communications platform, where she was appointed as both director and compensation committee chair in 2016. She served on the board of compensation software provider PayScale from 2014 to 2019 and on the board of King County Boys and Girls Clubs from 2009 to 2014.

Prior to joining Axiom as CEO, Elena served as president of SAP Concur. Elena joined Concur in 1998 through the acquisition of start-up 7Software, and served in various leadership roles including the head of worldwide sales and marketing, head of product management, executive vice president and general manager of small and medium sized businesses. She helped lead the company through many transitions, including Concur’s acquisition by SAP in 2014; its transition from licensed, enterprise software to cloud-based solutions; from desktop computing to the mobile device; and from its dominant focus on large enterprise clients to small and mid-market organizations.

Elena started her career journey in technology with several years spent at both Andersen Consulting (Accenture) and Deloitte serving F100 clients across the globe. She earned her BA in Economics from the University of California, San Diego. Forever passionate about building a more diverse and inclusive technology industry, Elena enjoys mentoring the next generation of women leaders, advising, and investing in women-led startups. Elena lives in the Seattle area with her husband and three sons.
