Kent Marten

Kent Marten is an accomplished product management professional with extensive experience in the geospatial and analytics domains. Currently serving as a Staff Product Manager at Databricks since August 2021, Kent focuses on SQL Language, Geospatial, and Variant Data Type initiatives while supporting the partner ecosystem. Prior roles include Principal Product Manager at Elastic, where Kent drove the development of maps and dashboards for Kibana, and Director of Product at Salesforce, responsible for the growth of Tableau and incubation of research projects. Previous positions at Tableau Software involved leading spatial analysis efforts as a Staff Product Manager and Senior Product Manager. Kent began a career at Esri as a GIS Product Engineer, following an initial role as a GIS Technician in the Government of the British Virgin Islands. Kent holds a Bachelor of Environmental Studies from the University of Waterloo, an MBA from the University of Redlands, and an Advanced Diploma in GIS from the Centre of Geographic Sciences.
