Michael J. Franklin

Michael J. Franklin is a Professor of Computer Science at the University of Chicago, where they also serve as the Morton D. Hull Distinguished Service Professor of Computer Science. With over 35 years of experience in the database and data management fields, Michael has held various roles as a faculty member, entrepreneur, architect, researcher, and consultant. They have contributed significantly to the development of data science initiatives and hold leadership positions within the university, including serving as the Liew Family Chair of Computer Science. Michael was also instrumental in founding and advising companies such as Databricks and Truviso, and their research has influenced modern approaches to scalable data architectures and Big Data analytics.
