Mikel Nesbett

Mikel Nesbett is a seasoned engineering professional with extensive experience in artificial intelligence and machine learning. Currently serving as a Principal Engineer in Deep Learning Generative AI at Databricks since April 2021, Mikel contributes to core Cosmos engineering initiatives involving model building and data curation. Prior to Databricks, Mikel held various roles at Intel Corporation from April 2009 to February 2021, including Principal Engineer and Director of Engineering, where notable contributions included the design of cloud-based AI services, advancements in privacy-preserving Large Language Models, and development of Intel's Homomorphic Encryption ecosystem. Mikel also led efforts in Machine Learning and Media Analytics, successfully collaborating on product innovation with major clients. Earlier experiences include roles as a Staff Software Engineer at CGG and Software Engineer at Wolfram, where foundational work on image processing and data visualization was accomplished. Mikel holds a Master of Science in Computer Software Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley.
