Simon An

Simon An is currently the Senior Director of AI Research at Databricks, where they support the development of state-of-the-art large language models for enterprise applications. Previously, Simon served as the Senior Director of Engineering at Thumbtack, scaling the engineering organization significantly while overseeing critical teams focused on marketplace dynamics and machine learning. Simon's career also includes experience as a Staff Software Engineer at Google, where they contributed to the development of Google Assistant, and as a Research Engineer at Clarium Capital Management. They began their research journey as a Research Assistant at the University of Rochester, where they studied probabilistic graphical models. Simon is pursuing a Master’s in Computer Science at the University of Rochester.
