Yao Liu

Yao Liu is a Research Scientist focused on artificial intelligence in interactive environments and partial-information feedback. Currently a Senior Research Scientist at Databricks, Yao previously held positions at Amazon and ByteDance, where notable contributions included designing a multi-task learning model for a bandit-based recommender system launched in TikTok and Douyin. Yao earned two Ph.D. degrees in Computer Science from Stanford University and Carnegie Mellon University, respectively, following a Bachelor of Science in Machine Intelligence from Peking University, where they graduated first in their class.
