Ching-Wei Chen

Ching-Wei Chen is an accomplished engineering leader with extensive experience in machine learning and audio technologies. Currently serving as Director of Engineering at Datadog since July 2025, Chen previously held the position of VP of Engineering at Crossing Minds, where an AI Personalization and Retrieval Platform was developed and the company was successfully acquired by OpenAI in 2025. At Spotify, roles included Director of Machine Learning Engineering, where significant advancements in personalized recommendation features were achieved, and managing multiple engineering teams. Prior experience includes engineering management positions at SoundCloud and Gracenote, focusing on audio fingerprinting technologies and music information retrieval. Early career included software development and technical account management roles at Dolby Laboratories. Chen holds a Master's degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from UC Santa Barbara and a Bachelor's degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
