Luca Canale

Luca Canale is a highly skilled professional in the field of applied science and machine learning, currently serving as a Senior Applied Scientist at Datadog since February 2025. Previously, Luca held the position of Senior ML Research Engineer at Sarus, where responsibilities included drafting technical notes and leading coordination for R&D deliverables, alongside work on transformer-based generative models. Prior experience as a Data Scientist R&D at METRON focused on developing statistical and deep-learning methods for probabilistic time series forecasting. Luca's academic background includes a Ph.D. in Physics from École normale supérieure, complemented by a Master’s Degree in Statistical Physics and Soft Matter from the same institution, and further education at École Polytechnique and the National University of Singapore.
