Lorrin Nelson has a diverse work experience in the field of software engineering. They started their career at Group Logic, Inc. as a Software Engineer and worked there until 2005. They then joined Amazon.com as a Software Development Engineer, where they played a crucial role in overhauling route planning software and launching the Normalization Service. In 2010, they moved to Multifarious, Inc. as a Senior Software Engineer, where they designed and built REST services and data processing pipelines using various technologies.

In 2015, Lorrin joined Salesforce as a Principal Member Technical Staff. Within the company, they were a part of the Identity & Access team and served as a lead engineer for the just-in-time access portal. Additionally, they were a founding member of the Flowsnake team, contributing to streaming and batch data processing projects.

From 2021 to 2022, Lorrin worked at SDVI Corporation as a Principal Software Engineer. Their responsibilities included creating an analytics platform, mentoring, conducting design and code reviews, and contributing to various projects. They were also involved in DEIB efforts within the company.

Currently, Lorrin is a Staff Engineer at DataGrail, a position they started in 2022.

Lorrin Nelson began their education in 1992 at Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology, where they completed their high school education. Following this, from 1996 to 2000, Lorrin attended Swarthmore College and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree, majoring in Computer Science and Economics.
