Soumyabrata Dev

Soumyabrata Dev is an Assistant Professor in the School of Computer Science at University College Dublin since August 2019, with research interests in image processing, machine learning, and remote sensing. Simultaneously, Soumyabrata serves as a Research Consultant at Datakrew, focusing on predictive analytics in Industry 4.0, particularly in vibration data analysis for mechanical and electrical equipment. Previously, Soumyabrata was an Associate Faculty at the National College of Ireland and a Postdoctoral Researcher at the ADAPT Centre, where advanced image segmentation and localization algorithms were developed. Additional experience includes roles as a Project Officer at Nanyang Technological University, where algorithms for cloud image analysis were created, and a Visiting Doctoral Assistant at EPFL. Earlier career experience includes working as an Engineer at Ericsson, focusing on frequency planning and optimization. Soumyabrata holds a PhD in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Nanyang Technological University and a Bachelor of Technology in Electronics and Communication from the National Institute of Technology Silchar.
