Mohammad Alam has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Mohammad started their career in 1996 as a Process Engineer at KAFCO, where they monitored process activities and conducted studies to optimize ammonia plant operations. Mohammad also managed plant modification projects and recommended improvements for efficiency and cost-saving.
In 2002, Mohammad joined QAFCO as a Process Operator, responsible for monitoring and controlling plant operations. Mohammad was later promoted to the role of Control Room Operator, where they optimized processes to achieve company goals. Mohammad also served as the Lead Control Room Operator, overseeing plant operations and emergencies.
In 2010, Mohammad became the Commissioning Team Leader, successfully commissioning ammonia tanks and an ammonia loading facility. Mohammad supervised a team of 800 personnel and maintained liaison with multiple organizations for feedback and follow-up.
After QAFCO, Mohammad worked at K-Bro Linen Systems Inc as a Production Supervisor, and at The International Group, Inc as a Refinery Recovery Head Operator.
Throughout their career, Mohammad has demonstrated skills in process optimization, project management, and plant operations.
Mohammad Alam has a diverse education history. In 1989, they enrolled in Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology and completed a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Chemical Engineering in 1995. Continuing their education, they pursued a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree in Business Administration and Management, General from Bangladesh Open University from 1998 to 2004.
In 2018, Mohammad attended the British Columbia Institute of Technology and obtained a Fourth Class Power Engineering degree in Power Engineering Technology. The same year, they also obtained a Fourth Class Power Engineering certification from ABSA, the pressure equipment safety authority.
To further expand their knowledge and skills, Mohammad enrolled in TSASK (Technical Safety Authority of Saskatchewan) in 2019 to obtain a 3rd Class Power Engineering certification in Power Engineering.
In addition to their educational achievements, Mohammad holds several certifications. Mohammad became a Life Fellow of The Institute of Engineers, Bangladesh in November 2014. In May 1995, they achieved Life Membership in the Chemical Alamonai Association, Bangladesh. Lastly, in November 2018, Mohammad obtained a Fourth Class Power Engineering certification from ABSA, the pressure equipment safety authority.
