Sales Director, LATAM at Datami

Marcelo Leon is the current Sales Director for LATAM at Datami. Prior to this, they served as the North LATAM Sales Director at Mavenir from November 2015 to September 2017, where they were in charge of sales for North LATAM and acted as the Account Director for America Movil group. Marcelo successfully led a regional sales team in 2016 to achieve their quota.

During their time at Mavenir, Marcelo improved AMX relationship and secured participation in new areas of business for the group, negotiated a platform replacement in Telcel on a 4 year contract base, and recovered a customer account, negotiated and won a contract support renewal for 2017, and negotiated Telmex’s platform replacement for 2018 by proposing a new Capex/Opex model. Marcelo also collaborated with Sales VP and Account Director in Latam for Mavenir to be awarded with a 3 year contract for messaging Platforms in Telefonica’s group. In addition to these responsibilities, Marcelo was also in charge of new Business Development activities in the region and opened a relationship with MIC corporate from scratch.

Prior to their time at Mavenir, Marcelo served as the Regional Account Director at Myriad Group AG from April 2013 to September 2015.

Marcelo Leon has a diploma in Professional Sales Management from Tecnológico de Monterrey, a Master's in Business Administration from Tecnológico de Monterrey, a Graduate degree in Telecommunication Engineering from Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, and a Diploma in International Business Course from Pronounce in Toronto, Canada.

Marcelo Leon reports to Harjot Saluja, President and CEO. They are on a team with Harsh Saxena - COO, Jagan Shantigram - CTO.
