Dan P.

Dan P. has a diverse work experience spanning several industries and roles. In 1995, they worked as a Teacher at SPW Tanzania. From 1997 to 1998, they served as an IT Specialist at Kinyara Sugar Works Ltd. In 1999, they managed the Sanaga-Yong Chimpanzee Rescue Center at IDA-Africa. Starting in 2001, they began their career in the law enforcement sector with the Metropolitan Police. Dan held various positions such as Intelligence Analyst, Senior Intelligence Analyst, Head of Open Source (OSINT), Social media and Analysis, Head of Digital Intelligence, and Strategic National Lead for Open Source and Analytics. From 2010 to 2019, they were a Senior member of the NPCC Internet and Investigations national working group for the National Police Chiefs' Council. In 2015, they became the Co-Director of The Open Source Communications, Analytics Research (OSCAR) Development Centre at Cardiff University. From 2019 to 2021, they worked at the National Crime Agency as the Head of Data Capability and Programme Director (Data). Currently, they are employed at Dataminr, where they have held the roles of Account Executive Public Sector - EMEA, Director Policing and Security, Public Sector - EMEA, and Senior Director Policing and Security lead, Public Sector.

Dan P. has a diverse education history. Dan pursued an MBA from Henley Business School from 2010 to 2013, specializing in the field of MBA. In 2014, they attended Bramshill Police College for the Senior Leadership Programme in Policing, which lasted until 2015. Dan also enrolled in the Chartered Management Institute in 2014, where they obtained the degree of Fellow (FCMI) in Management - Fellow Chartered Management Institute.

Prior to these experiences, Dan completed an MSC course (PgDip) in Wildlife Conservation at Edinburgh Napier University from 2004 to 2008. Dan first began their education at Aberystwyth University, where they obtained a degree in Zoology from 1996 to 1999.

Dan P. has also obtained several certifications throughout their career. In 2015, they completed the PRINCE2 Foundation and Practitioner program at QA, focusing on Project Management. Dan further enhanced their skills in Managing Successful Programmes (MSP - Foundation and Practitioner) through training at Datrix training in 2017. Additionally, they have obtained certifications such as Data Masterclass for Senior Leaders: Defence & National Security from the 10 DOWNING STREET DATA SCIENCE TEAM (2021), Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) from Scrum Alliance (2019), International Association of Crime Analysts certification (2019), Managing Successful Programmes (MSP®) Advanced Practitioner from BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT (2017), MSP® Certifications from BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT (2017), and PRINCE2® Foundation and Practitioner Certification Training from BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT (2015). Additionally, they completed an Advanced Open Source Course from SORINTEQ LIMITED in 2014.
