Jon Elkin

Jon Elkin has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Jon began their career as a Peace Corps Volunteer with the U.S. Peace Corps from September 2008 to November 2010. After that, they worked as a Temporary Contractor at Pathfinder International from March 2011 to June 2011 and as a Group Leader for the Volunteer Summer Program at American Jewish World Service from April 2011 to August 2011.

In 2012, Jon joined Fontheim International, LLC as an Analyst and worked there until June 2013. Jon then interned at Newmont Mining Corporation as part of the Sustainability and External Relations Group from May 2014 to August 2014.

From June to August 2015, Jon worked as a Sourcing Intern at New Balance, a leading athletic apparel and footwear brand. Jon also served as a Sustainability Consultant at an anonymous leading athletic apparel and footwear brand from November 2015 to January 2017.

Jon's most recent work experience has been at Dataminr, where they held various roles. Jon started as a Domain Expert from February 2017 to January 2018. Jon then became a Manager in the Domain Experts team from January 2018 to July 2020. Subsequently, they worked as a Manager in Data Analytics from July 2020 to January 2022 and was later promoted to Senior Manager in Data Analytics from December 2021 to January 2023. Currently, Jon is serving as the Associate Director in Strategy & Analytics at Dataminr, starting in January 2023.

Jon Elkin has a diverse educational background. Jon holds a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree with a focus on Business Administration and Management, General from The Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth. Jon also pursued studies in Development, Health, and Society at the School for International Training in Nairobi, Kenya. Additionally, they obtained a Master's Degree in International Economics and International Development from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS).

For their undergraduate education, Jon Elkin attended the University of Rochester, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree. Jon'smajor fields of study were Political Science and African/African-American Studies.

In addition to their formal education, Jon Elkin has acquired various certifications. Jon completed Operational Excellence Foundations and Communicating Change in an Enterprise-Wide Transformation courses from LinkedIn. Jon also holds a certification in Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, which they obtained from the Thayer School of Engineering at Dartmouth in May 2016.
