Wessel Valkenburg

Wessel Valkenburg is an experienced leader in data science and machine learning, currently serving as the Head of Machine Learning Engineering at Datapred. With a rich background spanning over a decade, Wessel has held key positions such as Data, Technology and Research Consultant at Prevue, Chief Data Scientific Officer at ZYTLYN Technologies, and Technical Lead for Data Science & Data Engineering at Terre des hommes foundation, where contributions included improving disease surveillance in Burkina Faso. Wessel's earlier career involved significant roles at prestigious institutions like CERN and EPFL, focusing on high-performance computing and data-driven research in physics. Wessel holds a PhD in Theoretical Physics from Université Savoie Mont Blanc and an MSc from Utrecht University.
