Alexander Lex is a Professor of Human Computer Interaction at Graz University of Technology and an Adjunct Professor of Computer Science at the University of Utah's Kahlert School of Computing. They co-founded datavisyn and have an extensive background in visualization and interactive data analysis, particularly applied to molecular biology. Lex previously held positions as a postdoctoral research fellow at Harvard School of Engineering and Applied Sciences and as a visiting researcher at Harvard Medical School, where they developed the StratomeX visualization technique for cancer subtype analysis. They completed a PhD in Computer Science at Technische Universität Graz.
