Evan Xiang has a strong background in research and data science. Evan started their career as a Research Intern at Microsoft Research Asia, where they worked on natural language processing and machine learning projects. After that, they continued their research work as a PhD Research Assistant at HKUST. Evan then joined Beijing Genomics Institute as an R&D Director, where they focused on bioinformatics. Evan later joined Baidu, Inc. as a Senior Research Engineer, contributing to various projects until 2015. In 2015, they became the Chief Data Scientist and Director of the Big Data Platform at Datayes, where they also founded RoboR, an intelligent investment project. Overall, Evan has significant experience in research, data science, and leadership roles.
Evan Xiang obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Computer Science and Engineering from The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, from 2006 to 2012. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor's degree in Computer Software Engineering from Nanjing University, from 2002 to 2006.
