Gordon Lai is an experienced software engineer who has worked at various companies throughout their career. Gordon began working at InterVideo in 2000 as a Senior Software Engineer, where they developed decoding and post-processing pipelines for audio and video. After leaving InterVideo in 2004, Lai was a Staff Software Engineer at Real Communications Inc., where they designed media playback frameworks, digital TV software stacks and DVD-Video navigators. Gordon later joined Netflix in 2008 where they served as a Senior Software Engineer, working on designing architectures for streaming and playback on Netflix devices. Lai then co-founded Vuemix, serving as the Director of Software Development and designing highly scalable composition engines for digital video. Gordon worked there until 2023, when they moved to Datazoom and became the Head of Data Collector Architecture.
Gordon Lai earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Control Engineering from National Chiao Tung University from 1991 to 1995. Gordon then went on to earn a Master of Arts degree in Control Engineering from the same university from 1995 to 1997.
