Marijn D. has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries.

Starting in 2011, Marijn worked as a self-employed individual, hosting Chinese language news commentary videos for Radio Netherlands Worldwide (RNW) and providing translation services.

In 2014, Marijn joined the Consulate General of the Netherlands in Chongqing as a Policy Officer. In this role, Marijn organized events and high-level visits, handled inquiries from Dutch business and regional economic reporting, and was responsible for cultural affairs, education, and social media.

In 2016, Marijn transitioned to the Ministerie van Buitenlandse Zaken as a Policy Officer. Their responsibilities included contributing to the coordination of the Netherlands' China-related policies, advising on matters concerning bilateral relations with China, and acting as the first point of contact for affairs related to Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, and Mongolia.

Moving on to 2018, Marijn worked as a Researcher at LeidenAsiaCentre, where they conducted research on various topics.

In 2019, Marijn joined VIVAT as a Software Developer, focusing on software development tasks.

In 2020, Marijn worked as a Language Instructor at Leiden University, teaching languages.

Most recently, in 2021, Marijn started working at Datenna as an Analyst and Data Scientist.

Marijn D. completed a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Chinese Studies from Leiden University, graduating in 2011. In the academic year of 2011-2012, Marijn attended Leiden University again, this time pursuing a Master of Arts (MA) degree in Chinese Studies. During 2009-2010, Marijn studied Intensive Chinese language courses at Beijing Language and Culture University, and in 2013, obtained the Chinese Proficiency HSK Level 6 certification from Hanban.

In 2018-2019, Marijn enrolled in B. Startup School Amsterdam to focus on full-stack web development. Additionally, in April 2020, Marijn obtained a certification in Data Science Python from ProgrammerCursussen.
