Ann Cavoukian

Ann Cavoukian, Ph.D., is a prominent expert in privacy and security, serving as Founder and CEO of Global Privacy & Security by Design since January 2018. In addition to this role, Cavoukian holds multiple positions, including Executive Director at the Global Privacy & Security by Design Centre and Senior Fellow at Ryerson University’s Ted Rogers Leadership Centre. Other notable roles include Distinguished Expert-in-Residence at the Privacy by Design Centre of Excellence and Executive Director of The Privacy and Big Data Institute at Ryerson University. Cavoukian is also a Faculty Fellow at Arizona State University's Center for Law, Science & Innovation. Prior to these roles, Cavoukian served as Ontario's Information and Privacy Commissioner from 1997 to 2014. Through these positions, Cavoukian advocates for the integration of privacy alongside public safety and business interests.
