Eric Hagarty

Eric Hagarty is an experienced leader in public administration and political campaigns, currently serving as Chief Clerk and Chief of Staff for Dauphin County since February 2025, and Chair of Broad Street Market since January 2024. Prior experience includes managing director at Mercury Public Affairs, LLC from March 2023 to January 2025, and Secretary of Education for the Pennsylvania Department of Education in 2022-2023, overseeing a $22 billion organization. Eric's background also features substantial roles in the Office of Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf, where responsibilities included Deputy Chief of Staff from 2016 to 2022, and Chief of Staff for the Pennsylvania Department of Community & Economic Development from 2015 to 2016. Initial political campaign experience encompasses finance director and deputy campaign manager roles for key candidates, notably raising significant funds and managing voter outreach initiatives. Eric holds an MBA from the University of Pittsburgh and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Political Science from the University of Washington.
