Tracy Bailey, Ph.D., serves as the National Director of Freedom Readers, Inc. since January 2024, focusing on establishing new sites nationwide and mentoring literacy advocates. Additionally, Tracy holds the position of Director of Educational Outreach and Teacher Placement at Davidson College, facilitating connections between students and educators. With extensive experience, Tracy has been involved as a Board Member for the Sisters of Charity Foundation of South Carolina and the Waccamaw Community Foundation, while previously acting as CEO of the Boys and Girls Club of The Grand Strand. As a published author, Tracy's book "Forever Free: A True Story of Hope in the Fight for Child Literacy" is forthcoming, with an audiobook narrated by Tracy also released. Tracy holds a Ph.D. in Language and Literacy from the University of South Carolina and has contributed significantly to educational initiatives and nonprofit leadership throughout a dedicated career in literacy development.
