Mark Nelson

Mark Nelson has over 40 years of work experience in the geophysical industry. Mark started their career in 1978 as a Powderman at Seiscom Delta and then worked as an Observer at Seis Pros, Inc. In 1980, they joined Seismic Experts Group as a Permit Agent, where they worked for six years. From 1990 to 1992, they served as the Location Manager at Strawn Explosives. In 1993, they worked briefly as the Health, Safety and Environmental Manager at Eastern Geophysical Inc before joining Dawson Geophysical as the VP-HSSE, a position they still hold.

Mark Nelson earned a Master's degree in Environmental Science from Jackson State University, attending from 1990 to 1993. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Biology/Biological Sciences, General from the University of Mississippi, studying from 1987 to 1989. In 1989, they also participated in an exchange program through the University of Mississippi, studying Spanish at the University of Salamanca in Salamanca, Spain.
