Alma Thompson

Alma Thompson has been working in the tech industry since 2017. In that year, they began working as a Sales and Marketing Representative for Lon Gundie, where they worked directly with customers, recorded orders, and handled questions and concerns. In 2020, they joined Mean Guppy as a Junior Front-End Developer, where they worked on IOS mobile app development in ReactJS, presented weekly code progress reviews, and worked in a team environment of 4-6 developers. From 2019 to 2021, Alma worked as an Undergraduate Teaching Assistant and Student Researcher at Hamilton College. As a Teaching Assistant, they held hours for students to inquire about Python and C++ projects, assisted with lectures, and graded assignments and examinations. As a Student Researcher, they developed and implemented code in C++ to solve complex problems, ran experiments using Bash scripts, and backed new theoretical discoveries with mathematical proofs. Most recently, Alma has been working as a Software Engineer for Day Zero Diagnostics, Inc.

Alma Thompson graduated from Hamilton College in 2021 with a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science. Alma attended Hamilton College from 2017-2021.
