Dr. Crisp is the VP of Research and Development at Molecular Designs and focused on developing diagnostic products for the physician office laboratory. He received his Ph.D. in Biological Sciences from the University of California at Irvine in 2002 and did a post-doctoral fellowship in the Pathology department at the University of Utah.
Prior to his current role, Dr. Crisp was VP of Microbiology at Biomerieux, where he was responsible for lifecycle development for five IVD systems accounting for $1B in revenue. His team was set across 3 sites in the USA and 5 sites in France, including approximately 350 employees (software developers, data scientists, hardware/firmware engineers, microbiologists, molecular biologists, program directors, project managers). Management of $110M annual R&D budget spanning 90+ projects. Rob joined Biomerieux following the acquisition of BioFire Diagnostics, where he played a key role in building an IVD development program, and was a key contributor to the FilmArray system design. Rob led the development for all panels and is an inventor on 7 patents.
