Doug K. has a diverse work experience spanning over several decades. Doug started their career as a student journalist in the summer of 1984 at the Harlem Youth Writing Workshop. In 1994, they worked as a substitute teacher for the New York Institute of Finance, specifically preparing students for the Series 7 Exam. From 1995 to 1997, they worked as a Legal Document Specialist/Word Processing Operator at Finnegan, Henderson, Farabow, Garrett & Dunner, LLP and Rogers & Hardin LLP. Doug then joined various temporary agencies as a Legal Document Specialist/Word Processing Operator from 1993 to 1998. In 1998, they became a self-employed Real Estate Investor/Mortgage Originator until 2006. For the next 12 years, they continued being self-employed, but now as a Document Specialist/Editor/English Writing Tutor. Most recently, since 2018, they have been working as a Legal Document Specialist/Word Processing Operator at DayBreak Staffing.

Doug K. began their education at IS 180 from 1977 to 1981. Doug then attended The Bronx High School of Science from 1981 to 1985. After completing high school, Doug pursued a finance degree at Pace University from 1985 to 1988. In 2011, they briefly attended Hunter College, where they studied Comparative Literature. Finally, from 2013 to 2017, Doug attended Baruch College, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics. Additionally, in 1987, they obtained certifications in NASD Series 6, 7, and 63 from the NASDAQ OMX.
